Quinoa Chocolate Cake

Updated: Jul 20, 2022

Head spinning, finger licking good, rich chocolate cake.

Something about this rich, dark chocolate has got my head spinning. I’ve been craving a deccadent chocolate recipe lately. Whether it’s a brownie, cake, or even chocolate mouse; I want it. A few days back I had a customer share this chocolate cake recipe with me. I wasn't instantly hooked when she mentioned quinoa as a the base for the recipe. I don't do grains too often, but I'll make a few exceptios when it comes to dessert. Plus, it's gluten-free! It's already a much healthier option that many alternative recipes that create inflammation in the body.

I wish I was the brilliant mind behind this decadent chocolate dessert, however, Sarah from ‘Making Thyme for Health” is the creater of this delicious cake. Not only is this beautiful lady the one who designed this dark and rich perfection, but her other recipes and photos are all uniquely inspiring. I followed her recipe, but added sliced blackberries in the center as well as on top. I whipped up some coconut cream and put a dallop on the top of my slice. I wanted to follow Sara's recipe precicely on the first try, but next time I'll try and switch up and reduce some of the sugar. Either way, this dessert is to die for and needs to be a staple in your cookbook! For the full recipe, head on over to Making Thyme for Health.
